4th Week
This week I taught 2nd Grade at both schools. The first lesson focused on what a composer is and what they do. Then I introduced them to Beethoven and some of his compositions. I also had them watch 2 videos to get them a quick glance into what I was going to talk about when I started my prezi presentation. I also had a short little review after I gave the information and they remembered the information very well. I was very impressed. I also showed them a video of an orchestra playing Symphony No. 5 to get them introduced to instruments for the next lesson I would teach them. The second lesson went very well also and that involved the instrument families. I described characteristics of each family and showed pictures of the instruments. The students were very engaged and interested in the instruments. I also had videos of what each instrument sounds like so they could hear it. These two lessons were a success!!
3rd Week
This week I worked with 1st Grade at Clarmar and Linden Schools. They understand rather fast about rhythm when it comes to learning about quarter and eighth notes. It was really great knowing that they are fast learners and enjoy learning about music. I felt like these lessons for this week went very well. The lessons focused on rhythm and Tempo. Tempo was a great introduction to fast and slow. It just keeps getting better and better.

2nd Week
Well this week I worked with Kindergarten at Clarmar and Linden Schools. They were amazing students. They listened to directions well and they were very engaged in the activities. My first lesson I did Wheels on the Bus and they loved doing the actions to it. The second lesson I did was Farmer in the Dell. This one was a bit wild for the kids. They understood the song very well. Then we did the game of Farmer in the Dell and I made sure that everyone had a turn. I also taught them A Ram Sam Sam and they picked it up rather fast and performed it very well. This week was pretty amazing and I hope my experience continues to be amazing.

1st Week
Well my first week went by really fast. I started out the week with a Professional/Work day. I learned a lot at the two sessions I attended. One was on Behavior and the other on Students in Poverty. I got to see the students on Tuesday which was very exciting. The students were very excited to see me. I travel between two elementary schools Linden and Clarmar. I also met the faculty at both schools and they are very nice people. I am loving this experience so far and tomorrow I get to teach Kindergarten. I'm kind of nervous but also excited at the same time. I guess we will see how this week goes!

One Week Away
Hello everyone!! I am Liz and a music education major at Wayne State College. I am getting closer and closer to student teaching at Fremont Public Schools! I am getting so excited about this experience and being able to finally graduate in May. I will be teaching grades K-8 throughout the semester. My first nine weeks I will be with K-6 and the next nine weeks I will be with 7th and 8th graders at the middle school. A couple of weeks ago I had my first part of APL training. I am so glad that the college decided to give this training to student teachers because it helps us as student teachers to prepare for the real job world. I learned so much from those 3 days and can't wait to return to training in March. My goal is to blog at least once a week during my student teaching process up until my graduation day.
